Diana M. Lumba
Diana M. Lumba has been practising criminal law as a defence lawyer for nearly a decade. She has devoted her practice to vigorously defending clients facing criminal, quasi-criminal, or regulatory charges. She is deeply committed to achieving the best result for every client by drawing on her experience, legal knowledge, advocacy skills, and work ethic. Her specialty is criminal appeals. She has argued criminal appeals at the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada. She manages the criminal appeals practice at Edward H. Royle & Partners LLP.
Diana obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science “With High Distinction” from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor, where she won various awards and published several articles. She summered at the Department of Justice and articled at the Crown Law Office – Criminal. She clerked for Justice Lloyd Dean of the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor and Justice Casey Hill and the judges of the Superior Court of Justice in Brampton. She practised with two leading criminal defence firms before joining Edward H. Royle & Partners LLP.
Diana is an active member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and has acted as an intervenor on its behalf. She regularly volunteers as a guest lecturer for law school courses and continuing professional development programs and organizes the annual continuing professional development program at Edward H. Royle & Partners LLP.
