Justin W. Yuen


Justin W. Yuen joined Edward Royle & Associates in 2016 after completing his articles at a prestigious, full-service Criminal Law Chambers located in Toronto.

Mr. Yuen believes in building strong relationships with clients in order to fearlessly advocate in their defence. He has successfully appeared before the Ontario Review Board and has experience ranging from representing clients charged with murder, assault, drug trafficking, importing and fraud, to theft, harassment, and failing to comply with court orders.

Mr. Yuen holds a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the University of Kent. He has received numerous awards for advocacy and community relationship building.

Throughout his legal education Mr. Yuen has been recognized for his excellence and passion for trial advocacy. He competed and won the Kent Law School Prize for Mooting and was sponsored to compete in the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot where he was the highest scored advocate in his moot against the University of Stirling.

Mr. Yuen managed the mock trial programme at the University of Kent in his final year, and was employed by the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law to tutor moot advocacy.

Mr. Yuen is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association. Outside of the legal field, Mr. Yuen is committed to improving his community both locally and globally. Across the pond in England he sponsors the annual Canadian Law Moot Court Competition at the University of Kent. In Toronto he lectures and mentors high school students, volunteers his time coaching a swim team, and sits on the Toronto Trillium Lions Club Board of Directors.
