Samantha Saunders earned her Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Criminology from Carleton University, graduating with Highest Honours. She then received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she focused her study in the area of criminal law.
During her time in law school, Ms. Saunders volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada and worked for Downtown Legal Services, the Faculty of Law’s legal clinic for low-income clients. As a case worker at Downtown Legal Services, Ms. Saunders had carriage of client files, appeared before justices of the Ontario Court of Justice, and conducted public legal education workshops. Ms. Saunders summered at Edward H. Royle & Associates before returning to complete her articles.
