Cavan Maiolo

Associate

Cavan Attended Law School at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University. During his studies at Lakehead, he spent time with the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic, working primarily in housing support. While at HCLC Cavan also ran a forms clinic for clients bringing or responding to claims at the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board. During law school Cavan also completed a placement with a criminal lawyer in Kitchener, Ontario building a foundation of oral and written advocacy skills. Cavan received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from McMaster University with a major in political science, as well as a minor in religious studies.

 

After completing his law degree Cavan began working with a small firm in Hamilton, focusing on the area of criminal law. He joined our firm in October of 2020.

 

Cavan has represented clients at the Ontario Court of Justice as well as the Superior Court of Justice. His practice areas fall within criminal law generally with a particular interest in constitutional issues and the rule of law.
